Can the system operate completely without an onsite pilot?
Yes, the DJI Dock 2 is designed for completely automatic operations. You plan missions remotely via FlytBase, the dock manages takeoff, flight, landing and recharging autonomously. The pilot only monitors from a distance.
What autonomy does the system have for search and rescue?
The Matrice 3DT has an autonomy of 50 minutes per mission. With automatic recharging in 32 minutes, you can have practically continuous operations. The dock has a backup battery for over 5 hours in case of power failure.
How does thermal detection work for finding missing persons?
The Matrice 3DT is equipped with a 640×512px thermal sensor that detects temperature differences. People appear as hot spots even at night or among vegetation. FlytBase AI can automatically identify human forms.
Does the system withstand bad weather for 24/7 use?
Absolutely. The Dock 2 has IP55 protection against rain and dust, operates from -25°C to +45°C. It has integrated weather sensors that can automatically suspend missions if conditions become dangerous.
What training is needed to use the system?
DroneBase provides complete training on dock configuration, FlytBase mission planning, thermal data interpretation and emergency procedures. Ideal for civil protection operators and law enforcement.
Is the system approved for BVLOS flights in Italy?
The DJI Dock 2 is technically ready for BVLOS operations. However, in Italy you still need specific ENAC authorisations for each site. DroneBase will assist you through the authorisation process for professional use.
