From Rimini to the European market: over ten years of UAV innovation.
DroneBase S.R.L. was founded in Rimini in 2012 by Fabio De Matteis. From the outset the company focused on the design of drones and camera gimbals for industrial use, covering a wide range of technical sectors. Today, after more than ten years, we have launched numerous products and delivered hundreds of custom solutions for Italian and international clients.
Thanks to the ability to conceive, design, manufacture and certify industrial-grade platforms, DroneBase is among the most relevant players in the national and international professional drone landscape.
Unmanned systems push organisations to rethink established processes, making possible goals that previous generations could only imagine. With a strong focus on technology and digital transformation, we chart — and travel — the road towards the future of professional drones, working side by side with our clients with respect for people and the environment.
Our facilities cover nearly 700 m² and include advanced R&D laboratories, test benches, production lines, flight simulators, a showroom, a DroneBase Academy training room and a 10,000 m² test flight field. The team consists of mechanical, electronic and aeronautical engineers, designers and beta-testers.
Since 2025 DroneBase has been joined by E80 Group, a new strategic partner that contributes industrial expertise and an international network to support global expansion and strengthen the integrated offering for large enterprise clients and public administrations.

Foundation
Fabio De Matteis founds DroneBase in Rimini, focusing the business on the design and sale of professional drones and camera gimbals for industrial use.
First public sector contracts
Collaboration with public bodies and law enforcement begins. DroneBase builds its reputation in the institutional and infrastructure sectors.
Strategic certifications
Awarded ISO 9001:2015, ENAC/EASA certification and DJI Enterprise Super Gold Dealer status. Development of AI algorithms and BVLOS systems begins.

DroneBase launched the Drone Cleaning System in Italy — a professional solution for cleaning photovoltaic panels, infrastructure and elevated surfaces using drones. With over 50 active users across Italy and Europe, it eliminates the need for operators working at height and dramatically reduces maintenance time.
