How an autonomous
drone dock works
An autonomous drone dock — or “drone-in-a-box” — is a weatherproof hangar that keeps a drone permanently on site. Instead of dispatching a pilot, missions run on a schedule or a trigger: the dock opens, the drone takes off, flies a pre-planned route, returns, lands with centimeter RTK precision and recharges, ready for the next flight. A single operator can supervise many docks remotely from DJI FlightHub 2, with no one on site.

The Dock 2 is designed for contexts where the Dock 1 was oversized. Installable on roofs, walls, reduced areas, by just two people, even in industrial environments where space is a scarce resource. IP55 certification, operating temperature from -25°C to +45°C, backup battery for over 5 hours in case of blackout. Maintenance every 6 months — the operational commitment is minimal.

Operations without on-site pilot
Missions programmed in advance or activated by triggers. The Matrice 3D/3TD takes off, executes the mission, returns, and charges — without human intervention on-site. A remote operator can monitor multiple Docks simultaneously.
360° integrated monitoring
Two integrated fisheye cameras — one inside for monitoring the docked drone and one outside for environmental control. The remote operator always sees the Dock, its conditions, and the surrounding site, day and night.
Centralized fleet management
Management via DJI FlightHub 2 cloud for multi-site multi-dock: mission planning, live monitoring, data archiving, alerting. On-premises deployment support where required for data sovereignty.

Hybrid fast charge
Optimized 12V hybrid charging system: 20% → 90% in 32 minutes. Algorithm that preserves drone battery health extending its lifecycle. Total mission cycle under 90 minutes.
RTK dual-antenna
Integrated RTK dual-antenna base station: horizontal accuracy 1cm+1ppm, vertical 2cm+1ppm. Automatic centimeter-accurate landing, instant RTH positioning. Multi-constellation GPS/BeiDou/GLONASS/Galileo.
Backup battery 5+ hours
Integrated buffer battery with over 5 hours of autonomy. In case of power blackout the Dock 2 completes the ongoing mission, closes the cover, protects the drone, sends alerts to the cloud. Zero operational loss.
Environmental sensors
Integrated sensors for wind, rain, ambient temperature. Dual 180° fisheye cameras inside and outside. The system autonomously decides when to launch, when to return, when to abort a mission based on conditions.
