Which drones are compatible with the MagDrone R4?
The MagDrone R4 is compatible with DJI M300 RTK and M350 RTK drones, as well as any UAV with payload capacity above 2 kg. It includes specific mounting brackets for DJI drones and direct SkyHub connection.
What is the difference between R3 and R4?
The MagDrone R4 features 5 triaxial sensors instead of the R3’s 2, enabling high-resolution mapping for detection of small objects such as UXO and archaeological artifacts. The R4 is specifically designed for applications requiring greater data density.
What altitude should I fly at for best results?
For detection of small metallic objects such as UXO, flight altitude of approximately 0.5–1 metre above the surface is recommended. The drone must be equipped with terrain-following system to maintain constant altitude.
How is the collected data processed?
The system includes MagDrone Data Tool software that allows visualisation, filtering and processing of magnetic data. Data can be exported in various standard formats for further processing in GIS or Matlab software.
Can the system detect anti-personnel mines?
The magnetometer can detect only mines with significant ferrous content (such as M15, M6, TM-62M). It is not suitable for confirming the absence of mines in an area, but can be useful during technical surveys for identifying the presence of metallic UXO.
