Official course delivered directly by SPH Engineering experts, founders of the industry standard workflow for aerial magnetic surveys with drones. The program covers the entire data cycle: from magnetometric theory to processing choices through interpretation of the final result.
The Basics of Magnetic Data Processing and Interpretation course is the official SPH Engineering training dedicated to processing and interpretation of magnetic data acquired via drone-mounted aerial magnetometers. It is a structured path covering the theory of aerial magnetometry, the different types of magnetometers on the market, and the complete data processing workflow with the four main industry software: GeoHammer Pro by SPH Engineering, Seequent Oasis montaj, SENSYS MagDrone DataTool and MAGNETO. The course is intended for operators, geophysicists, archaeologists, UXO technicians and researchers acquiring data with the main aerial magnetometers on the market: SPH Engineering MagNIMBUS, SENSYS MagDrone R4, R3, R1 and Geometrics MagArrow. The program dedicates space to magnetometry theory (Earth’s magnetic field, magnetic susceptibility, anomalies), classification of magnetometers (overhauser, fluxgate, optically pumped, etc.) and practical application of processing tools, with particular focus on noise correction, removal of the Earth’s field, gridding and interpretation of anomalies. The maximum duration is 6 hours, and the course is structured for groups of up to 4 students, ensuring a personalized educational experience and direct interaction with the SPH Engineering trainer. It is available both on-site at the SPH Engineering office and via video conferencing, with maximum flexibility of international participation. The course is aimed at professionals already active in the field of aerial magnetometry or operators who have just acquired a magnetometric system and need to develop processing skills to extract maximum value from data collected in field campaigns. Distributed by DroneBase, DJI Gold 5 Dealer ISO 9001:2015 certified, official reseller of SPH Engineering, SENSYS and Geometrics, with support in Italian for enrollment, coordination and post-course technical follow-up.
