Unitree robot supply and integration: what DroneBase offers

Buying a Unitree robot is the easy part. Making it work inside an operational process, with a payload that collects the right data, integration with your systems and trained people, is the real job. That is where we start.

  • Configured Unitree A2 Pro: industrial quadruped with thermal + daylight payload, gas and dust sensors, fire detection, SLAM 3D mapping, VR-teleoperated robotic arm or a custom payload. See robot dogs for inspection; configurations are quoted per project.
  • Listed accessories: the thermal and daylight camera with zoom for Unitree Go, A2 and AS2 (€1,980 including VAT) and the Smart Controller 7 handheld ground station (€1,464 including VAT). All accessories are in Unitree accessories.
  • Other Unitree models (Go2, B2, G1 humanoid): availability and configuration on request, based on the application.
  • Services: application analysis, payload integration, operator training, support and spare parts, project documentation.

Unitree robot range at a glance

Unitree Robotics builds quadruped and humanoid robots with very different capabilities. The table summarises the data published on the official unitree.com website; real-world performance depends on configuration, payload, terrain and operating conditions.

Model Type Weight Payload Stated endurance Notes
Unitree Go2 Compact quadruped about 15 kg about 7-8 kg (max 10-12 kg depending on version) about 1-2 h (EDU: 2-4 h) 4D LiDAR L2; Air, Pro, X and EDU versions
Unitree A2 Industrial quadruped about 42 kg 25 kg walking, 100 kg standing (A2 Pro) 5 h / 20 km unloaded; 3 h / 12.5 km fully loaded Front and rear industrial LiDARs, HD camera, -20 to +55 °C
Unitree B2 Heavy-duty industrial quadruped about 60 kg over 40 kg walking, at least 120 kg standing over 5 h / 20 km unloaded IP67, slopes over 45°, -20 to +55 °C
Unitree G1 Humanoid about 35 kg - about 2 h 1,320 mm tall, 23 degrees of freedom (EDU 23-43), depth camera + 3D LiDAR

For industrial inspection with a significant sensor load the reference is the A2; the Go2 suits development, education and light missions; the G1 is a research platform for humanoid robotics.

Industrial applications of Unitree robots

A quadruped carries the sensor where wheeled or tracked rovers stop (steps, industrial stairs, gratings, rubble) and where a drone struggles: enclosed spaces with no GPS and little room to manoeuvre.

  • Plant inspection: recurring rounds on lines, switchboards and machinery with thermal readings and anomaly detection.
  • Tunnels and confined spaces: GPS-free SLAM 3D surveys and atmosphere checks before staff enter.
  • Security patrol: perimeter rounds and night watch with thermal imaging and zoom.
  • Fire prevention: thermal monitoring of warehouses and areas at risk of self-ignition, with early hotspot detection.
  • Emergency response: reconnaissance of unstable or contaminated areas before teams go in.
  • Research and education: open platforms for universities and labs, with secondary development and SDKs (ROS 2 on A2 Pro, EDU versions of Go2 and G1).

Accessories and payloads for Unitree robots

The dual-light gimbal kit fits Unitree Go, A2 and AS2 with a 3-axis stabilised head carrying a 384×288 thermal camera (8-14 μm, up to 11 palettes), a 5 MP daylight sensor with 2K video and 30× digital zoom, dual RTSP streaming over IP and AI target tracking, at 117 g and 7.2-72 V DC input. Installation requires the Unitree integration and control kit, sold separately: we specify the complete configuration in the quote.

The Smart Controller 7 is a handheld ground station with a 7" 1,600-nit touchscreen, Android 13, 2.4 GHz link up to 15 km, IP54 and about 11 hours of battery life; it runs GCS software such as QGroundControl and Mission Planner. We check compatibility with your planned robot and payload setup.

What DroneBase provides for Unitree robots

  • Application analysis: we start from the operational problem and the real environment, defining routes, data to collect and site constraints.
  • Configuration and integration: payload selection, mounting, power, communications and integration with existing systems.
  • Custom development: payloads built to specification, from prototype to field acceptance.
  • Operator training: use, maintenance, mission management and data interpretation.
  • Support and spare parts: ongoing technical support to keep the platform operational.

Unitree robot FAQ

Where can I buy a Unitree robot in Italy?

DroneBase offers the Unitree A2 Pro configured with inspection and security payloads and sells the accessories listed in the Accessories subcategory. For Go2, B2 and G1 we check availability and configuration on request. Describe your application in the form at the bottom of the page or call +39 0541.1790411.

How much does a Unitree robot cost?

The cost depends on the model and above all on the configuration: payload, extra batteries, software integration, training and support. That is why robots are quoted per project. Accessories have list prices: the thermal + daylight gimbal kit is €1,980 and the Smart Controller 7 is €1,464, both including VAT.

Which Unitree robot is best for industrial inspection?

To carry heavy sensors for hours in plants, tunnels and confined spaces the reference is the A2 (A2 Pro: 25 kg walking payload, two LiDARs, up to 3 h fully loaded according to the manufacturer). The Go2 suits light missions, trials and development. The choice depends on sensor load, environment and mission duration.

Can a Unitree robot do thermal imaging?

Yes, with a thermal payload. The dual-light gimbal kit combines a 384×288 thermal camera and a daylight camera to find hotspots on switchboards, motors and pipes. If you need certifiable temperature measurements, a radiometric sensor must be specified: we define it during configuration.

Does a Unitree robot need aviation authorisation?

No. A ground robot is not covered by drone aviation rules: no flight authorisation or UAS operator registration is needed. Workplace safety obligations for the site still apply and should be reviewed before the robot is introduced.

Does the robot work without GPS or network coverage?

Indoor localisation relies on onboard LiDAR and cameras, not satellite signals. Real-time data transmission does require adequate connectivity or a repeater along the route, to be assessed on site.

Are Unitree robots suitable for universities and research?

Yes. Unitree offers secondary-development versions (Go2 EDU, G1 EDU), and the A2 Pro supports ROS 2 and SDKs with Ethernet, USB, CAN/RS485 and Wi-Fi 6 interfaces for sensors and actuators. They are used for projects on perception, autonomy and humanoid robotics.

Can I see a Unitree robot demo?

Yes. The format depends on the application and the site, from a demonstration in a controlled environment to a trial on a real route. Tell us about your scenario and we will suggest the most useful evaluation.
