The 34× optical zoom (equivalent to approximately 40–1,360 mm on full-frame) allows inspection of components on high-voltage pylons, antennas, industrial roofing and infrastructure at significantly greater safety distances than the H20's 20×. The 400× hybrid zoom further extends capabilities for identification of licence plates, signage and details on distant structures in surveillance operations. Radiometric thermal camera — next-generation quantitative thermal analysis

The radiometric thermal camera of the Zenmuse H30 builds on the improvements of the previous generation with superior thermal sensitivity and resolution. In radiometric mode it measures the absolute temperature on every pixel with certified accuracy, producing quantitative thermal reports usable for photovoltaic plant analysis, electrical line and transformer inspections, and detection of thermal losses in industrial and residential buildings. Thermal images are recorded in radiometric RJPEG format for post-flight analysis with dedicated software such as DJI Thermal Analysis Tool, FLIR Tools or IRT Analyst.

Wide-angle camera and 1,200 m laser rangefinder

The high-resolution wide-angle camera provides contextual vision during operations, allowing the operator to orient the drone in the operational area, capture panoramic images and plan real-time zoom approaches. The laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1,200 m provides precise real-time distance measurements to the targeted object, essential for calculating the real dimensions of inspected structures, verifying safety clearances on electrical lines and geolocating points of interest for coordinate transmission to ground personnel.

Onboard AI — automatic object detection and tracking

One of the most significant innovations of the Zenmuse H30 compared to the H20 generation is the onboard artificial intelligence integrated into the payload. The system automatically detects and classifies people, vehicles and moving objects in the zoom's field of view, initiates automatic tracking keeping the subject centred in the frame during drone manoeuvres, and sends alerts to the operator upon detection of predefined objects of interest. For SAR operations this means the drone can autonomously cover a search area while automatically flagging any thermal or visual signature consistent with a person.

H30 vs H30T — what is the difference

The H30 series is available in two variants: H30 (this category) and H30T. Both share the same 34× zoom system, wide-angle camera, laser rangefinder and AI capabilities. The difference lies in the addition of the radiometric thermal camera on the H30T for quantitative temperature measurement. The H30 without thermal camera is the choice for those operating exclusively in visual scenarios (surveillance, structural inspection, reconnaissance) where thermography is not required, at a lower cost compared to the H30T. For the majority of professional enterprise scenarios that include thermal inspections, security and SAR, the H30T is the recommended variant.

Storage Case H30 Series — protection for field transport

The DJI Storage Case for H30 Series is the official DJI case for safe transport and storage of the Zenmuse H30 and H30T. The rigid structure with shaped interior protects the payload from shocks, vibrations, dust and moisture during transport in vehicles, helicopters or on rough terrain. Essential for those who frequently transport the payload separately from the drone — for example in multi-payload configurations with two Zenmuse units to be mounted in the field — or for safe storage between missions.
