Operational scenarios: where cargo drones make a difference
DJI Delivery drones are built to operate where traditional vehicles cannot reach or are not economically viable. Key use cases:
Search & Rescue and Civil Protection
Rapid delivery of defibrillators, medications, blood bags, first-aid kits and emergency equipment to isolated areas, disaster zones or locations inaccessible by road. The FlyCart 30 with Cargo Box is the standard platform in SAR and civil protection operations. The FlyCart 100 handles heavier loads such as stretchers, oxygen cylinders and lightweight generators.
Construction Sites and Infrastructure
Supply of materials and equipment directly to scaffolding, rooftops or work areas inaccessible to traditional lifting equipment. The Winch system enables payload lowering without landing, with centimetre-level precision thanks to the AR Cargo Release function. The FlyCart 100 handles heavy fasteners, structural components, fixing kits and specialist instrumentation up to 85 kg.
Last-Mile Logistics to Remote Areas
Deliveries to islands, mountain valleys, rural areas without accessible roads, offshore platforms. The FlyCart 30 covers up to 28 km unloaded, making it ideal for regular delivery routes over medium distances. The FlyCart 100 handles volumes and weights that previously required helicopters, at significantly lower operating costs.
Industrial and Utility Support
Transport of samples, spare parts and instrumentation along power lines, dams, wind farms and linear infrastructure. The Winch mode enables supply drops to transmission towers, wind turbine nacelles and elevated stations without landing in hazardous areas.
Redundant safety: parachute, dual-battery and ADS-B
Both FlyCart models integrate certified safety systems for specific-category and BVLOS operations: automatic emergency parachute deployable on critical failure, dual-battery configuration for continued operation on single battery failure, fault-tolerant flight controller with redundant inertial measurement units. The FlyCart 100 adds integrated ADS-B for U-Space air traffic management compliance, multi-sensor obstacle avoidance (LiDAR + Penta-Vision + Millimetre-Wave Radar) and intelligent cargo monitoring (weight, temperature, lock status) via the sensorised Cargo Box.
BVLOS authorisations and ENAC support for cargo operations
FlyCart cargo drones operate under specific category of EU Regulation 2019/947 and require ENAC authorisation for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations. DroneBase supports clients through the entire authorisation process: pre-sale operational scenario consultation, assistance in drafting the Operational Concept (ConOps), technical documentation for ENAC, STS-02 EU training with official examination. For operators managing multi-drone fleets, we also support the pathway to LUC certification (Light UAS Operator Certificate).

These are two interchangeable release systems. Cargo Box mode uses a rigid container (70L on FlyCart 30) with integrated weight and centre-of-gravity sensors: the drone lands and the box is deposited on the ground. Winch mode allows lowering the payload via a retractable cable (20 m on FlyCart 30, 30 m on FlyCart 100) without the drone landing, with automatic release on ground contact and AR Cargo Release for centimetre-level precision. The Winch is essential for deliveries to scaffolding, rooftops, boats or areas where landing is impossible.
Yes, subject to applicable regulatory requirements. Both models are rated IP55 (light rain and dust protection), operate at temperatures down to –20 °C (with self-heating batteries on FlyCart 30) and withstand winds up to 12 m/s. Night flights require specific ENAC authorisation. The FlyCart 100 integrates multi-sensor obstacle avoidance (LiDAR + Penta-Vision + Millimetre-Wave Radar) providing enhanced situational awareness in low-visibility conditions.
Prices vary depending on the model, configuration (Cargo Box, Winch, accessories) and chosen support package.
